Zakat is a financial act of worship with deep purposive dimensions. Allah has linked its fulfillment to true faith — it purifies both the soul and wealth, establishes justice and solidarity, and balances individual and collective rights. It is a moral and economic reform tool that develops human character, prevents wealth hoarding, and supports social stability.
The complexity of modern transactions and the diversity of contemporary wealth have created challenges in calculating, managing, and maximizing the impact of Zakat. There is a pressing need for a scholarly conference that unifies sharia and procedural perspectives, develops transparent models, builds trust and compliance, and connects Zakat to development and poverty alleviation — restoring its civilizational role.
